Prenatal

 

  • Encourage expectant parents to practice stress-reducing routines (stretching, walking, guided breathing).

  • Promote talking, singing, or playing soft music to the baby.

 

Infancy

  • Use warm, responsive caregiving (eye contact, soothing tone).

  • Label emotions daily (“You’re excited!” “You’re tired.”).

  • Maintain consistent sleep and feeding routines.

Middle Childhood

 

  • Have daily emotional check-ins (“What was your high and low today?”).

  • Practice problem-solving steps during conflicts.

  • Encourage mindfulness apps or quiet-time activities.
